ETHICS OUR Ethics 1. How do you you source your insects? The term “ethical” can be subjective, however generally in the case of taxidermy it refers to specimens which are not caught and killed for the sole purpose of taxidermy. Most of my specimens are sourced from breeders from around the world as well as conservation projects, meaning there is little to no environmental impact. Focusing on sustainability as well as ethics. In some cases, they are also sourced from my own personal collection/rearing and from within the pet trade (pets that have died). I do not personally kill my specimens and any from my own collection have died of natural deaths. None are sourced for the sole purpose of my products or taxidermy. 2. How do you source your skulls/bones? All are sourced cruelty free, ethically and are from natural deaths or in some instances road kill. As well as going on daily nature walks with the dog where on occasion I may find deceased animals and their remains. We source from other like minded vulture people who have the same values as us. Some also come from farm animals. None are sourced for the sole purpose of my products or taxidermy. 3. How do you source your wet specimen animals? The reptiles I use for my wet specimens are sourced from within the pet trade. These have all died of natural causes and are never killed. Other animals I use such as mammals are sourced from places like road kill or unfortunate deaths during breeding/pregnancy, as well as old age pets and farms. View our shipping and returns policies for your orders. STORE POLICY Because We Care At DeadSet Co., we want to give our customers the best shopping experience. That’s why we believe our store policies should be fair, clear, and transparent. Read about them below, and contact us with questions. SHIPPING POLICY All items within the UK are shipped FREE as standard. Items will be shipped within 2-5 working days of receiving your order, however if there's any delays with this you will be notified. If we are not shipping for any reason, such as Christmas period, there will be a notification on the website. Most items are shipped via Royal Mail , however some larger or heavier items may need to be sent with Parcelforce. Your shipping confirmation email will state which carrier they are with. We ship internationally at additional cost to the buyer. The additional cost will be calculated at checkout dependant on weight and country, however if you would prefer you can contact us by Email , Instagram or Facebook to order directly. We are not responsible for any customs charges, this is the buyers responsibility. We will not refund postage if item is returned due to customs fee not been paid. Please note that from 1st July 2021 all EU customer orders will incur custom fees regardless of the order value. It is the responsilbity of the customer to pay this charge. In the event of a parcel been returned to us due to incorrect address, the customer is entitled to a refund less postage paid or must pay postage again. RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY If items have arrived damaged, please contact us and we will replace or fix the item. We will require a photo of the damaged item, as well as a photo of the packaging to be able to process the claim. It may be possible to fix certain items, if that is the case and the buyer agrees, we will cover the shipping costs. We accept returns for unwanted items if they are returned within 14 days of delivery Returned items must be shipped back in the condition you received them in and be resalable. We will not cover the postage for unwanted items. Please ensure you package your items well, to reduce the risk of damage in the post and have enough compensation in the unfortunate event they are damaged on the way back to us. The following items can't be returned; Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for custom or personalised orders. WET SPECIMENS We can preserve your pet using museum standard methods, ensuring you have a lasting memory of your pet. VIEW OUR Examples Wet specimens is a method of taxidermy where animal (or parts of) is preserved by 'fixing' the animal into a suspended state. This means the decomposition process is stopped and the animal stays as they were at the time of death. We use a museum standard method meaning your pet will be preserved using formaldehyde. This is the only true way to preserve and ensures your pet will stay in a fixed state for time to come. After this process they will stay in 70% ISO alcohol.
